Roy Christopher

The main highlights of his speech were of how he first got involved in the web which was by starting his own paper magzines while still a teen with his friends. As time passed he started using the web to create this information, in which he said,"the web is inevitable once you get into it you just get sucked into it".
He identified that the use of the web is now very much in a way a sense of necessity but a struggle as well. Along with the advent horizon that the web represents which will only create positive outcomes for our future that being the digital natives. In which he specified that the medium and the message are all connected but the message dopesn't take from the medium because the medium is the most important. To be able to balance the use of technology without going overboard. The advent horizon which he sees can be seen as an advantage or a disadvantage to many. The digital natives are raised with the use of such technology and can use this to their advantage. We only have to know more about technology to be the more prepared. Many don't trust our generation saying that texting or the web have changed our literature in which he finds the distrust they have in our generation. A key phrase that really caught my mind was "program or be programmed" it only amplified my thinkimg of what he was trying to say by this? Was it that he intended for us to be the ones to manipulate the web instead of the web manipulating us or was it just to have the knowledge of the web because it is in a way a necessity for our generation?
