Literature and Analysis two

                                                        Frankenstein
1.)The plot of my novel is about Robert Walton's Journey and finding the creator of Frankenstein, Victor Frankenstein and the crimes the monster has caused because of revenge against his creator. The monster has killed many loved ones of Victor and Victor has felt the guilt of creating Frankenstein. Which in the end Victor ends up dying and Frankenstein regrets his choices and decides to die as well.
2.) A theme the i thought most went with the book was guilt. Throughout the story both Frankenstein and Victor feel the guilt of the monsters creation and the monsters choice to avenge his creator.
3.) 1. "I, the miserable and the abandoned, am an abortion, to be spurned at, and kicked, and trampled on."
2."So much has been done, exclaimed the soul of Frankenstein—more, far more, will I achieve; treading in the steps already marked, I will pioneer a new way, explore unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of creation."
3."I saw—with shut eyes, but acute mental vision—I saw the pale student of unhallowed arts kneeling beside the thing he had put together. I saw the hideous phantasm of a man stretched out, and then, on the working of some powerful engine, show signs of life and stir with an uneasy, half-vital motion. Frightful must it be, for supremely frightful would be the effect of any human endeavor to mock the stupendous mechanism of the Creator of the world."
The author's tone is that of disillusionment.
4.) Five literary terms that helped my understanding of the tone and themes was metaphors, similes, allusion, diction, and syntax.
1."Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay
To mould me Man, did I solicit thee
From darkness to promote me?"
2."What may not be expected in a country of eternal light"
3."I, the miserable and the abandoned, am an abortion, to be spurned at, and kicked, and trampled on"

  1. Compelling description and great examples of literary elements. How did these techniques contribute to your understanding of theme and tone?

  2. The techniques helped me understand what the theme was because I was undecided if it was guilt or tragedies in return for ones actions. However the techniques helped me view that the book mainly focused on the main characters gulit and the guilt of Frankenstein.

  3. Were you able to understand this story fairly easy or was it a bit difficult for you? When i read it a couple years back I had some difficulty.
